Yufutsu LNG Receiving Terminal/Yufutsu LNG Plant
Yufutsu LNG Receiving Terminal / Yufutsu LNG Plant have served as a hub to ensure stable supply of natural gas within Hokkaido, receiving and vaporizing LNG, supplying vaporized LNG gas to gas pipelines, and shipping LNG in its original liquefied form.
While Yufutsu LNG Terminal receives LNG transported by coastal vessels, Yufutsu LNG Plant stores and vaporizes LNG, supplies vaporized LNG gas to a network of gas pipelines, and loads LNG onto tank trucks and railway tank containers.

Yufutsu LNG Plant
At Yufutsu LNG Plant, natural gas produced at Yufutsu oil and gas field and LNG vaporized gas are combined and supplied to the network of gas pipelines in Hokkaido. In addition, the plant has served as a hub for our LNG Satellite System, where LNG are loaded onto tank trucks and railway tank containers for transportation to distant locations.
The plant also is the only LNG plant equipped with LNG production facilities in Japan, producing LNG from part of natural gas produced at the Yufutsu oil and gas field and storing it so that JAPEX can better adapt to fluctuations in demand.
Main Facilities
- LNG storage facilities: LNG tanks (one 3,000-kiloliter tank, and one 2,0000-kiloliter tank)
