JAPEX held “Kids Summer Open Office Day” for Children of Employees at the Head Office

Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd. (JAPEX) organized the "Kids Summer Open Office Day" for the children of our employees at our head office (Sapia Tower, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) on July 26, 2024, with a total of 15 families comprising of 23 children.

Following the positive response from the employees and their families about the first event held in March 2023, the second event was held at the end of July 2023 as the ''Kids Summer Open Office Day'', useful for independent research and creating memories during the summer vacation. This is the third time the event was organized.

The concept of this event was to let children experience being in the "opposite position", who are usually the ones being observed during schools' parents visits. During the office hours, children get to experience the following activities to learn about their parents' work as well as see their parents and colleagues in a company setting, which they usually do not get to experience.

• Business card exchanging practice
• Visiting  parents' desk and exchanging business cards
• "Work-Card" Collecting Rally from Various departments at the Head Office
• Visiting the President's Office
• Trying on Working Uniforms and Helmets
• Summer Festival Events (Ring Toss, Struck out, etc.)

By providing an opportunity for the children and employees to engage in conversation through work experience, we hope to promote communication between families, deepen interaction among employees, and energize the workplace as a whole. We plan to hold more events for kids in the future, incorporating ideas from employees.

JAPEX will put further efforts to promote communication between employees and their families for deeper understanding of the work and increasing employees' engagement with the company.
