Held the Completion Ceremony of Ozu Biomass Power Plant (Information)
On August 10, Ozu Biomass Power Corp. (OBP), sponsored by four companies, including Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd. (JAPEX), held the completion ceremony of Ozu Biomass Power Plant (hereafter, "the power plant") which started commercial operations on August 1.
The ceremony was attended by 58guests, including government officials and local officials from Ehime Prefecture and Ozu City, EPCs, business partners of fuel cargo handling and operation and maintenance, etc., of the power plant, and the four sponsors of OBP (hereafter, the "Four investing companies") that invested in OBP: JAPEX, MAEDA CORPORATION, Yonden Business Co., Inc., and SHINKO DENSO co., ltd.
The power plant is located on about 25,700 square meters of land in the industrial park of Nagahama-area, Ozu City, Ehime Prefecture. With an output of approximately 50,000 kW, the power plant is a biomass-fired power plant using appropriately certified wood pellets imported from overseas. The amount of power generation will be approximately 350 GWh per year. All of them will be sold to Shikoku Electric Power Transmission & Distribution Company, Incorporated (YONDEN T&D) based on the Feed-in tariffs scheme (FIT) for renewable energy.
Along with supplying wood pellets for fuel to the power plant, JAPEX will contribute to increasing power generation from renewable energy systems and developing the local economy through cooperation with the Four investing companies and related companies, with the understanding and support of local stakeholders.
